Self Introduction

Hi, my name is Han. I was born into a normal family with a father who is a gardener and a mother who is a homemaker. My older brother is currently studying medicine at Pindong.

I majored in Electrical Engineering during my college years and specialized in Analog Artificial Intelligence in my graduate studies. My thesis was on AI, and I worked on a project where I built a 2D map based on indoor photos using image processing technology. It was a team project that I completed with two other classmates.

I was inspired by my work in graduate school and decided to become a software developer for my first job.

What is the difference between software devs resume and normal position

I don't any difference, and in my experience. It can separate into different stage

For Junior Devs (less experience):

  • You need to show your enthuiasm to tempt the company to hire you. In that stage, those kind of devs can be molded into different shape, and also those devs don't have tendency or bias towards work
  • Some companies may take your school experience, English test and personality as reference. If I'm an interviewer, I'll check out the learning process from this candidate, or the way how they get things done
  • It's better to have a side project or side note It can literally make your endeavor more tangible, and the interviewer can easiler pick questions from what you've done. If you get a hang of for your material or you at least have a concept for what you've done. It may have a lot of possibility to be hired

For intermediate and Senior (have more experience)

  • You need to list your skillset. Let's say if you are a UI/UX designer, you know the basic design tool. for example, Photoshop and Illustrator. You also know about Figma and XD, which stands for you have a foundation. Okay then, I see you have an experience coordinate with the English speaker, which means you can work international-wise. It is a plus or if you are interviewed in an international company, English is necessary

From this aspect, that's not differenent between engineer and other positions. Your skillset is like a puzzle. We essentially hire you to bring a better solution for our team, so you need to have cards to play

  • Also, it's important to know how you iron out kinks. If you can state in detail, which stands for you really have experience. Whereas, you gives some ambiguous reply and you cannot keep the topic, the interviewer may think you otherwise

From that aspect, it's not point the seperate devs and other vocations

  • I guess rolyalty is an important key like we've discussed on the TED talk. If that interviewee have 1 year, 1 year, 1year and 1 year, and another 1year experience from different company, it looks sus for real. "May you treat us as another bus stop"

  • FOR devs, it's good for you to consolidate different knowlege. I'm only about web so let's talk about web. Were consists of 3 parts. Backend, frontend and DevOps. Those 3 are importants. Checkout, members, real-time chatrooms so on and so forth, they are backend stuff Homepage, product page, tutor page, the style of chatroom, they are frontend stuff Frontend need to send data to communicate with backend, and vice versa. I'm a backend back then, and i now am frontend. I have those frame of mind on my top of my head, so i have a border sight Devops is how you host your website, desktop/mobile app or how you deploy what you do on live Those are from different realm and if the devs can wire them up, push the site on live, and work in harmony, it can be a big plus

  • Also if devs have experience about management and coordinate with product manager, or even you can work well with other department, solve other teams solution, it can also score you high
